Bonn

Bonn is a major German city and has a rich history as far as politics is concerned. Bonn assumed the position of the capital of Western Germany after the fall of unified Germany in the Second World War. The city continued to serve as the capital state of the country even after unification in 1990 and remained the capital of Germany till 1999 before Berlin was made the capital.

Bonn has great geographical importance as it lies on the bank of the Rhine River. Situated in the North-Rhine Westalphia region of Germany, the city still has a major chunk of administrative offices which makes it a special city even now.

Bonn is one of the leading cities when it comes to education and has one of the biggest universities in Germany present in the city i.e. the University of Bonn. The city also is home to a lot of industrial activity with head offices of major companies like T-Mobile, Haribo and Solar World present in the city of Bonn.

The city has a number of tourist attractions including the Beethoven Monument. Other attractions include cultural and religious landmarks like the Museum Mile, Beethoven House which is the place where Ludwig van Beethoven was born, Godesburg fortress ruins and the famous Bonn Minster Church. Bonn also has a number of nature parks which add to the attraction it holds for tourists that come to Germany from all around the world. These parks include Rheinaue, Botanischer Garten and Arboretum Park Harle with each of them full of natural beauty.
