Boston

Boston is one of the largest cities in the entire USA and remains the biggest cities in the state of Massachusetts along with being the capital of the region as well. With a population of over 662,000, Boston is one of the most populated cities in United States of America.

Founded in 1630 as a town and given the status of a city in 1822, Boston has a rich history.  Boston was founded specifically in and around the Shawmut Peninsula before the city got expanded as the city became a hub of industrial activity after the 1820’s. Boston played a major role in the American Revolution with many incidents during the revolution related to Boston. The Boston massacre, the Boston Tea Party, the Siege of Boston and the Battle of Bunker Hill are a few such landmarks that are associated with Boston.

Boston remains one of the most livable cities in the world and has a great tourism industry as well. A large portion of the economy of Boston is supported by its tourism sector. A number of great traditional landmarks and tourist attractions are one of the prime reasons for the fledgling tourism industry in the city. Boston Harbor, Charles River and Fenway Park are some of the most common and most popular tourist destinations in Boston.

Boston is also known for its impressive educational institutes with many leading educational colleges and universities present in the city. Boston University, Suffolk University and Boston College are three of the major universities present in the region which impart knowledge to the students who live in Boston or come to Boston from other cities and countries to learn their trade.
